About

Coordinex is for shops that aren't chains.
Built by someone who grew up inside one.

We make next week's coffee-shop schedule from the Square history your block already proved. iPhone-only today. Tuesday-honest about what we won't do.

Why this exists.

One of us grew up inside a small family business that wrote next week's schedule on Sunday with a pen and a guess. The schedule lived on a wall calendar in the back office. Whoever called out on Tuesday morning, mom rewrote the rest of the week on the back of a receipt. The dry-erase board in the kitchen was for shift swaps that never made it into the books. The group text was for everything the dry-erase board missed.

Software showed up in the early 2010s. It didn't help. It asked us to type in how busy we'd be — which is the question we were already trying to answer. It read our payroll, not our customers. It pretended a Tuesday morning and a Saturday brunch were the same shape because they were the same labor cost. They aren't. Anyone who's worked a shop floor knows they aren't.

Coordinex is the version we wished existed back then, ported to coffee. The pitch is small: three months of your Square sales already know the shape of your shop's mornings. Hour by hour. Tuesday vs. Saturday vs. the morning your festival rolls in. Coordinex reads it and drafts next Tuesday by 9 a.m. Sunday — so you can spend Sunday night doing literally anything else.

We don't claim to run your shop. We don't change a thing in your Square account. We don't take a cut from your baristas' earned-wage advances. We're not pretending the app knows your team better than you do. We just stop you from guessing the busy hours — using the history your block already proved.

What Coordinex is right now.

Coordinex is an iPhone app for owner-operators of small coffee shops in the American Southwest. It connects to Square (the only POS we read today), reads your last 13 weeks of hourly sales, and drafts a schedule for next week in about 12 minutes. Your baristas swap shifts in the app instead of in a group text. Earned-wage access lets them get paid early without you fronting the cash. Geofenced clock-in catches buddy-punching at the door. We're free up to 5 teammates per shop, $9.99/mo from there. Full breakdown at /pricing. If it isn't useful in week one, delete it.

What we won't do.

We won't pretend a Saturday brunch and a Tuesday morning need the same staffing.

That premise is the whole reason this app exists. The entire competitive set is built on the opposite premise. We're staying on this side.

We won't promise an Android date we can't keep.

Android is on the list. It is not shipping this year. Anyone who says otherwise is selling. Join the waitlist if you want to know the day it changes.

We won't take a cut from your baristas' earned-wage advances.

Some competitors do. They charge $5 per advance to the worker. We don't. The math doesn't make sense for someone making $17 an hour to pay $5 to see their own paycheck four days early.

We won't pivot to enterprise.

The fastest way to ruin a small-business app is to start chasing a 500-location chain. Every feature we ship gets road-tested against a single owner running one or two shops. If a feature only makes sense at 50 locations, we don't ship it.

We won't sell your data.

Your Square sales history stays between Square, you, and Coordinex's compute. We don't aggregate it for benchmarking against your neighbors. We don't sell it to a private-equity outfit with a thesis about coffee. The whole point is your data shows your shop — not the average shop.

We won't auto-comply with city ordinances we don't understand.

Predictive-scheduling rules in Seattle, San Francisco, Emeryville — we surface the exposure. You make the call. We'd rather flag a maybe than auto-flag a wrong.

Who's building this.

Omar Nembhard — Founder. Grew up inside a small family business. Worked the floor before he wrote the code. Builds Coordinex on weekends and weeknights and most mornings before anyone else is at the bar.
